Hnr Indstudy In ECE

This is a stand-alone independent study designed by the student and faculty sponsor that involves frequent interaction between instructor and student. Qualitative and quantitative enrichment must be evident on the proposed contract before consent is given to undertake the study

Intro/Security Engin colloq

This honors colloquium combines theory and experimentation in security engineering. The colloquium will focus on Machine Learning and the threats and vulnerabilities that arise in embedded applications, focusing on image analysis. It will build on the security engineering principles and methods developed in the main part of the course. Students will use modern cloud-based software packages and data-sets from the ML research community and will leverage current UMass research in secure embedded systems.

SignalProcessingMethods colloq

This honors colloquium will be project and team-oriented. The project will have some connection to the broad field of signals and systems including, but not restricted to, the topic areas: Digital communication systems, Digital signal and image processing, Computer networks/communications, Feedback control systems. The projects will be coding and simulation-based, using MATLAB, Python, and Simulink. Projects with a hardware component will also be considered on an individual basis.

Sem-Senior Project

Course requires that individual BA and BFA candidates create an 8-12 minutes of original work, bringing it through all stages of production to concert performance. Students will take on all aspects of being creative director of their senior project; including auditions, casting, rehearsal schedule and overall creative process. In addition, students will be required to keep a written journal and also submit an in depth creative process research paper.
