ST-Burmese IV
Burmese IV is the fourth part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Burmese. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Burmese develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Myanmar (Burma) and to support course work in Southeast Asian Studies.
ST- Neurobio & Physiology Lab
This project-based laboratory course will expose students to a range of techniques that are used by neurobiologists and physiologists, including electrophysiology, imaging, and molecular biology. Research projects and exercises will focus on the mechanisms that facilitate the development and physiological activities of the nervous and endocrine systems using model animal systems like zebrafish. We will also study human sensory physiology through non-invasive participatory lab exercises.
Animation Fundamentals
Introduction to traditinal animation techniques as used in fine art animation and experimental film/video. Basics of locomotion, timing, lighting, camera moves, exposure, sound design and audio an visual editing. Studio course.

Toward that goal, the course is structured around typical modes of writing that support this kind of work. This course fulfills the UMass Junior Year writing requirement.

Intro to Science Fiction
This course introduces twentieth-century science fiction through reading American, European and Japanese novels and stories, examining SF in social, critical and literary contexts, and its sites of production and consumption. (Gen.Ed. AL, U)
ST-Design/HumanInTheLoopExpr
Simulations and virtual environments are excellent tools to conduct controlled, experimental studies aimed at understanding safety, and which in turn can influence optimal infrastructural enhancements, redesign of devices and even impact policy decisions, either directly or indirectly. In this course, the functional relationships between the various elements of driving simulation such as the simulation computer processing, the validity and fidelity of simulators are examined and the factors influencing simulation design and measurement are covered.
Nursing Care of Adults: Pract.
Clinical practicum involves experiences with providing and managing nursing care to selected clients with restorative health care needs. Emphasis on providing nursing care to sick clients. Concurrent with NURSING 432. Prerequisite: successful completion of all Level I and Level II requirements.
