Basic Leadership

Introduction of a generic model of problem solving; instruction in basic skills that underlie effective problem solving; relate the problem solving model and basic skills to the resolution of military problems. Fundamental leadership concepts are introduced including factors that influence leader and group effectiveness.

ST- Contemp Folklore Studies

This course serves as an introduction to folklore studies with a special focus on its intersection with social and cultural theory. The word "folklore" usually refers to traditional expressive practices, ranging from verbal arts (such as proverbs and legends) to material culture (such as costumes and handicrafts) to customs (such as rituals and festivals). But as this class demonstrates, the study of folklore has changed over the years. We now recognize that all communities, not just traditional ones, have folklore.

Marketing Research

Introduces primary and secondary data collection and analysis as a means to assess consumer behavior and develop effective marketing strategies; incorporates the use of technology in data collection and analysis. Prerequisites: MARKETNG 301; STATISTC 140 or 141 or RES-ECON 211 or 212.

Sports Policy

Introduction to the analysis of strategic problems and decisions facing sport managers and leaders as well as ethical and implementation issues. This course for seniors integrates academic work from both General Education and major courses and satisfies the Integrative Experience requirement for SptMgt majors. [No credit after SPORTMGT 480.]

Developmental Psych-Honors

The primary goal of this course is to provide students with a comprehensive introduction to developmental psychology and to the scientific study of development. It is intended that this course may serve as a foundation for future courses in Child Psychology. Thus, a broad range of topics will be covered and no one topic will be covered in depth. We will cover the major domains of development ? biological, cognitive, social, and emotional development - from the prenatal period chronologically, covering each age of the child in turn.
