Intro/Human Geography

A wide-ranging introduction to the ways people shape the world they live in. We will study the themes and concepts of human geography through the current issues and large questions which guide them. Lectures and reading will focus on the geographic aspects of cultural diversity, population issues, states vs. nations, the global economy, development, urbanization and the human transformation of the earth. S- Dynamics of Race & the Law

An intensive examination of the intersection of race with American law. The focus will be on the critique of established legal theories by a number of scholars in what has come to be known as the Critical Race Theory movement. Supreme Court cases and other legal materials will combine with theoretical, historical and critical works on the law and American society. Among the topics to be covered are the law of slavery, affirmative action, voting rights, and the nature of legal education.

Wellness for All

An introduction into the dimensions of wellness and different health/wellness programs for individuals with a wide array of health problems. Students will also be introduced to health disparities and possible solutions. Topics include the dimensions of wellness, issues in multi-cultural medicine, and programs for individuals with chronic disease and disabilities.
