Haitian Creole for Heritage Speakers I is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. Students studying Haitian Creole develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Haiti and to support course work in Caribbean and/or Francophone Studies. This course is an entry-level course for students who already have some basic speaking skills in Haitian Creole.
The course builds on communication skills learned in American Sign Language I and II. Students will learn to communicate appropriately in a wider range of interpersonal situations while increasing fluency and comprehension.

Students studying Burmese develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Myanmar (Burma) and to support course work in Southeast Asian Studies.
