Intro/Interdisc Materials Sci

This course explores materials science and engineering through interdisciplinary study, allowing students to select topics spanning metals, polymers, ceramics, and composites. Through lectures, discussions and presentations, students will deepen their understanding of material properties, applications, and design principles. Emphasis is placed on collaborative learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, preparing students for careers in materials-related industries and research fields.

Thermodynam&Kinetics/Materials

An introduction to fundamental aspects of thermodynamic principles and kinetic processes in materials. Thermodynamic fundamentals include laws of thermodynamics, solution thermodynamics, and equilibrium phase diagrams; while kinetic fundamentals include diffusional transport, phase transformations and solidification, and development and evolution of microstructure as well as surface/interfacial morphology.
