Purpose: An opportunity to discuss current state, national, and global issues and events with talented faculty, distinguished community members, politicians, and influential alums. Class time will be devoted to vibrant and challenging discussions based on critical reading and analysis of newspaper articles on current issues Requirements: Reading the front page stories from the New York Times and the Boston Globe daily. Supplemental reading as needed.

GW-Leadership/Global Community

Leadership in a Global Community is a course designed to introduce future leaders to the concepts of leadership theory that help inform leadership in a global community and may help to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the student?s particular style while reflecting on ways to improve and become better prepared to lead in the 21st Century. In this course, students will study leadership concepts of many perspectives to develop a vision statement. Students will also learn to about ethics in leadership and how this contributes to leading inclusively.

Honors Seminar 2: Topics

This seminar is a required course for Commonwealth Honors College students where students participate in a topical seminar-style course designed by its instructor. While the subject matter of each section is different, advanced knowledge of the topic is not required. While the subject matter of each section is different, the requirements for each section are the same.
