Introduces the next 400 characters in simplified form, principles of character simplification, and the use of Chinese-English dictionaries.

Curriculum Development

This course offers a foundational introduction to theory, research, and practice of curriculum development. We will examine competing theories of curriculum; current and historical curricular debates; recognized best practices in curriculum design; and the relationships among curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, and social justice.

S- Commercial Dance

Experience Street Jazz like never before! This performance focused class will prepare you for the Awooga! Drag show in May, encouraging you to unleash your creativity by developing unique characters through fashion, makeup and choreography. Inspired by the vibrant underground club kid scene of New York City, students will also learn how to effectively deliver and execute movements as an ensemble. Integrating all of these elements will equip you with skills for professional development in the commercial dance world.

This is a studio course which gives one credit for participation in a Theatre Department production. Most positions are designed for people with no previous experience. Offerings within the course cover all areas of theatre production, on stage and off, including positions as stage crew, light and sound board operators, dressers, stage managers, design assistants, box office assistants, props charges, electricians or actors. There is one general meeting at the beginning of the semester. Attendance is mandatory. Attendance at weekly production meetings may be required for some assignments.

A laboratory course exploring anatomical research methods, neurochemical techniques, behavioral testing, design of experiments and data analysis. Prerequisites: CHM 111 or CHM 118; and NSC 130/ PSY 130 or NSC 210 (may be concurrent), or equivalent. Restrictions: Not open to seniors. Enrollment limited to 16.

Nucleic Acid/Molec Biol w/Lab

This course is an in-depth examination of DNA and RNA structures and how these structures support their respective functions during replication, transcription, and translation of the genetic material. Emphasis is on the detailed mechanisms associated with each step of gene expression. Discussions incorporate many recent advances brought about by recombinant DNA technology.
