S-Sport Leadership

This course is based on the premise that while knowledge of leadership that is captured by readings, structured, and presented by professors in the classroom is a valuable tool for learning, it can be complemented by learning directly from experienced sport executives. This process of combining theory with leadership lessons from the "real world" will require you to read, reflect, write, and prepare diligently for 4-5 visits from top executives in the sport industry.

S-Sport Marketing Research

Marketing research is a fundamental component of any sport business decision. In this class we will discuss the various uses of marketing research, how to identify and utilize appropriate qualitative and quantitative research techniques, how to recognize effective and ineffective research, and how to appropriately interpret and apply the results.

Business Policy and Strategy

This course is designed to be highly integrative in that students use knowledge and tools from all functional areas of business to develop a "whole organization" perspective. In addition, they integrate by examining these functions within the context of business and societal environments, such as the competitive, political/legal, socio-cultural, technological, and economic. Furthermore, they integrate and further develop general education knowledge and skills, such as written and oral communications in each course assignment.

S-Mastering Oral Communication

Improve your oral communication skills by practicing and delivering professional business and career-oriented presentations and talks, planned and impromptu. Through feedback, role playing, and coaching, you will learn how to engage your audience, emphasize your points with confident body language, and create persuasive and informative presentations. Designed to enhance communication skills for professional success.
