Intro to Diversity Science

This course introduces students to the principles, theories, and applications of diversity science within psychology. Diversity science is an interdisciplinary field that aims to understand what can be done to reduce group-based discrimination, promote the inclusion of members of marginalized groups, and create a society where members of all groups can thrive. Students will explore the complexities of human diversity across various dimensions, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, socio-economic status, religion, age, and disability.

Memory and Learning

This course will cover the basic principles of memory and the key research findings that demonstrate these principles. You will learn to distinguish the different forms of memory, ranging from acquiring a skill such as the ability to play an instrument to the "mental time travel" that allows you to vividly re-live past experiences. We will learn about the factors that influence memory accuracy and explore ways in which memory can sometimes provide a substantially misleading characterization of past experiences ("illusory memory").
