This course uses a design justice approach to center communities most impacted by nursing?s research in the process of identifying critical knowledge gaps, research priorities, and research questions/specific aims. Learners will investigate critical histories of research in their area of interest. Informed by accountability partners, learners will prioritize knowledge gaps and co-create research questions/specific aims.

Theory & Connections to Praxis

In this course, students will connect theory with philosophy, developing critical analytical tools necessary to evaluate nursing theory/ies and theory for nursing, situating theories in their sociopolitical, cultural, historical, and philosophical context. Concurrently, students will begin to develop central concepts for their scholarly progression.

Deductive Reasoning

This course focuses on intermediate quantitative data analytic techniques to encompass approaches for future nurse scientists, characterization, management, analysis, visualization, integration, and use of large, heterogeneous data.
