This course provides students with theoretical and practical experiences related to the education and training of special needs students. Emphasis is placed on curriculum development, methods and materials, assessment, vocational programming and research.

Contemp Ed Phil

Assessment of currently influential educational philosophies, such as essentialism, romanticism, behaviorism, experimentation, and perennialism. Special attention given to their relevance to practice in such areas as teaching methods and curriculum planning.

Work Mid/HS Teachers

Civility related. The course is the introductory course in the Secondary Teacher Education Program and is required for licensure. It is field based and requires observation in the schools. The course encourages the examination of the actual work of teachers in its social and organizational context and the goals of students preparing to teach.
