Tech Theortcl Phys

Application of mathematical methods to solving problems in physics using calculus-based methods. Fourier series, Fourier and Laplace transforms and their use in solving ordinary differential equations (ODEs). Green?s function approach to solving ODEs with initial and boundary value problems. Vector calculus including Stokes and divergence theorems and their applications to electromagnetism.

Computational Physics

Computational physics in a computer laboratory setting. Numerical techniques and simulations of a variety of physical systems taught concurrently with programming skills using languages such as Python or Matlab. No prior programming experience required.

Hnr Indstu In Physic

This is a stand-alone independent study designed by the student and faculty sponsor that involves frequent interaction between instructor and student. Qualitative and quantitative enrichment must be evident on the proposed contract before consent is given to undertake the study.

ST-Intro/MeasurmntUsingArduino

This course is recommended for all first-year physics majors. This course is designed to provide students with the skills and confidence to solve experimental challenges that are at first beyond their skillset. Key skills to be developed: i) Designing, making, and trouble-shooting an apparatus to measure a physical quantity. ii) Familiarity with hardware-software interface. iii) Finding help on technical matters from books, web, colleagues, professors, etc. iv) Feeling confident of completing a technical task of one's own. No technical experience is needed.
