Spoken Cantonese for Mandarin Speakers III is the third part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Spoken Cantonese for Mandarin Speakers. Advanced Swahili Senior Research II is for students working on an advanced Swahili research project or thesis. Students develop skills in describing and narrating in detail, expressing opinions, giving reasons for opinions, and cross-cultural communication. Students develop vocabulary necessary to discuss and write about their chosen topic in Swahili.

This is a course in advanced Swahili speaking, listening, reading and writing. The course is offered through the Five College Mentored Language Program. The content of the course focuses on health policies and cultural concepts related to health in East African countries. Students develop skills in describing and narrating in detail, expressing opinions, giving reasons for opinions, and cross-cultural communication. Students develop vocabulary necessary to discuss health and health policy related topics in culturally appropriate ways.

Persian for Speakers II is designed for students who have advanced fluency in spoken Persian but need to learn to read and write. The course is offered through the Five College Mentored Language Program. The course format includes individual tutorials. The course continues the review of Persian grammar and structure started in Written Persian I. By the end of the course, students should be able to read standard Persian and be able to compose simple texts such as dialogues, paragraphs, and letters in written Persian.

Vietnamese for Heritage Speakers II is a course for students who already have some basic speaking skills in Vietnamese. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Vietnamese develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Vietnam and to support course work in Asian Studies.
