Egyptian Arabic V

Egyptian Arabic V is the first part of a four-part intermediate course sequence in Egyptian Arabic. The course develops speaking and listening skills in colloquial Egyptian Arabic. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and a final evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Egyptian Arabic develop skills needed for study abroad in Egypt and to support course work in Middle Eastern, African and International Studies.

Czech V

Czech V is the first part of a four-part intermediate course sequence in Czech. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Czech develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in the Czech Republic and to support course work in European Studies.

Haitian Creole V

Haitian Creole V is the first part of a four-part intermediate course sequence in Haitian Creole. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Haitian Creole develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Haiti and to support course work in Caribbean and/or Francophone Studies.

Cantonese/Mandarin Speakers V

Cantonese for Mandarin Speakers V is the first part of a four-part intermediate course sequence in Spoken Cantonese for Mandarin Speakers. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Cantonese develop speaking and listening skills needed to live and work in a Cantonese-speaking environment.

Burmese V

Burmese V is the first part of a four-part intermediate course sequence in Burmese. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Burmese develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Myanmar (Burma) and to support course work in Southeast Asian Studies.

Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian V

Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian V is the first part of a four-part intermediate course sequence in Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The course format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural etiquette skills needed for study abroad in Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia, or Montenegro and to support course work in European Studies or Balkan Studies.

Advanced ASL A

Advanced American Sign Language A builds on skills developed in ASL I-IV to enhance students' advanced language skills. In this course, students will develop conversational skills for everyday discussions and informal and formal narratives. Students will enhance their ability to explain increasingly complex ideas to illustrate how things work and why things are the way they are. Students will also analyze ASL stories to boost comprehension and vocabulary.

Zulu IV

Zulu IV is the fourth part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Zulu. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Zulu develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in South Africa and to support course work in African Studies.

Wolof IV

Wolof IV is the first part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Wolof. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Wolof develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in West Africa, especially Senegal, and to support course work in African Studies.

Hungarian IV

Hungarian IV is the fourth part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Hungarian. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Hungarian develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Hungary and to support course work in European Studies.
