Costume Design Studio

Continuation of THEATER 362. Costume design theory, conceptualization, and solution of related problems. Design projects, concept papers, journal, sketch book, and appropriate design work for department productions. Prerequisites: 300-level theater courses or equivalent, consent of instructor. May be repeated for credit. Satisfies the Integrative Experience requirement for BA-Theatr majors.

Math Statistics II

Point and interval estimation, hypothesis testing, large sample results in estimation and testing; decision theory; Bayesian methods; analysis of discrete data. Also, topics from nonparametric methods, sequential methods, regression, analysis of variance. Prerequisite: Statistc 607 or equivalent.

Massachusetts Poltcs

Massachusetts politics studied as a rich and colorful story, entailing corruption and virtue. Focus mainly on the present, covering the institutions of government and the political process. Students have the opportunity to pursue an aspect of the story that especially interests them.

Business Data Visualization

This course focuses on the use of business tools to visualize data and create reports to aid in business decisions, advance arguments with data, and distill analyses for consumption by non-analysts. This course assumes knowledge from OIM 350 including SQL query construction and basic Tableau and Excel usage. Students will extend their knowledge of Tableau for visualization and dashboard creation, as well as alternative software solutions including Microsoft PowerBI. This course focuses on experiential, hands-on learning in a group setting.

Clean Energy&Climate Policy/MA

Over the past 20 years, Massachusetts has sustained itself as a leader in clean energy policy, which has led to market development, job and economic growth, and reductions in greenhouse gas and other emissions. This course will provide direct insights into the brief history of these policy developments, including policy objectives, legislative and regulatory activities, tradeoffs of costs and benefits, analytical methods to establish program design, and stakeholder perspectives and engagement.

Renaissance & Reformtn Europe

Origins of modern Europe through transformations in Christianity, political thought, and culture, including origins, course, and effects of the Protestant and Catholic Reformations, rise of the modern state system, beginnings of European colonialism, social and economic changes; developments in education, literature, philosophy, and the arts.
