Advanced knowledge and procedures for evaluating treatment outcomes using single-subject research designs. Topics include assessment, experimental design, and data evaluation. Students enrolled in this course should have taken EDUC 532 -- Behavior Analysis in Applied Settings OR EDUC 661 -- Educational Research Methods. This will provide the foundational knowledge necessary to learn single case experimental design as an advanced research methodology.

Foundations of Higher Ed

This is the first of a two semester course required of all entering students in the Master's program in higher education. It provides an overview of higher education in America and investigates the ways higher education is constructed, defined, managed, studied, and though about.

Theories/School-BasedCounselng

This course will examine major theories of counseling and psychotherapy by reviewing their historical contexts; views of human nature; key concepts; major techniques; therapeutic processes; social, cultural, and spiritual issues; and how effective the theoretical apporaches are. The theories will be highlighted through case studies, videos avaiable from Cognella?s Active Learning that shows brief role plays of the theories, a website that illuminates some of the theorists, a website that assesses your view of human nature, and through the use of vignettes.

Self-Awareness for SJE

Educational strategies for increasing SJE educators' self-knowledge. Focus on self-awareness of social group memberships and the impact of those identities upon social justice education leadership skills. Experiential approach to processes, concepts, and skills leading toward self-observation and development of effective responses to social justice education classrooms and teacher training, such as management conflict, recognizing and working effectively with resistance, and group-leader dynamics. Prerequisite: EDUC 691E
