Appl Kinesiology Concepts

This course is designed to bridge the Gen Eds and introductory kinesiology courses with upper-division classes and more focused study, and will provide opportunities for students to apply their scientific knowledge to real-world situations through work in teams. Additionally, there is a career development component designed to provide students with the necessary skill set to transition from students to successful careers in the field of kinesiology.

Movement Neuroscience

Introduction to neuroscience emphasizing the control, sensation, and perception related to human movement. Topics include a general overview of issues in motor control and a review of Central Nervous System (CNS) organization; basic CNS building blocks underlying movement control and perception; application to the control of balance and locomotion in development, aging, and disease; mechanisms of brain plasticity in development, learning, and rehabilitation.
