Persian VIII is an intermediate-level course for students who have completed Persian I-VII or the equivalent. The course teaches Iranian Persian (Farsi). It is also useful for students who want to learn Dari (Persian as spoken in Afghanistan) or Tajik (Persian as spoken in Tajikistan). The course format includes small group conversation sessions and individual tutorials. Students studying Persian develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural etiquette skills needed for study abroad and to support course work in Middle Eastern and Central Asian Studies.
