ST-Urdu V

Urdu V is the first part of a four-part intermediate course sequence in Urdu. The course format combines independent study with small group conversation sessions and one-on-one tutorials. Students studying Urdu develop speaking, listening, and basic literacy skills needed for study abroad in Pakistan or India and to support course work in South Asian Studies.

ST-Cantonese/MandarinSpkrs1

Spoken Cantonese for Mandarin Speakers I is the first part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Spoken Cantonese for Mandarin Speakers.The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Cantonese develop speaking and listening skills needed to live and work in a Cantonese-speaking environment.

ST-Thai V

Thai V is an intermediate-level course for students who have completed Thai I-IV or the equivalent. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Thai develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Thailand and to support course work in Asian Studies.

ST-Serbo-Croatian VIII

Serbo-Croatian VIII (Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian VIII) is the third part of a four-part intermediate course sequence in Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian. The course format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural etiquette skills needed for study abroad in Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia, or Montenegro and to support course work in European Studies or Balkan Studies.

ST-Finnish I

Finnish I is the first part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Finnish. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Finnish develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Finland and to support course work in European Studies and Scandinavian Studies.

ST-Modern Irish I

Modern Irish I is the first part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Modern Irish (also known as Irish Gaelic). The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. Students studying Modern Irish develop speaking and listening skills useful for study abroad in Ireland and to support course work in Celtic Studies.
