ST-Urdu V

Urdu V is the first part of a four-part intermediate course sequence in Urdu. The course is offered through the Five College Mentored Language Program. The course format includes small group conversation sessions and individual tutorials. Students studying Urdu develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural etiquette skills needed for study abroad in Pakistan or India and to support course work in South Asian Studies.

ST-Finnish I

Finnish I is the first part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Finnish. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Finnish develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Finland and to support course work in European Studies and Scandinavian Studies.

ST- Swahili VIII

Swahili VIII is an intermediate-level course in Swahili (Kiswahili) for students who have completed Swahili I-VII or the equivalent. The course format includes small group conversation sessions and individual tutorials. Students studying Swahili develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural etiquette skills needed for study abroad in East Africa (especially Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda) and to support course work in African studies.

Filipino IV

Filipino IV is the fourth part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Filipino, the national language of the Philippines, developed from Tagalog and other regional languages.The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Filipino develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in the Philippines and to support course work in Southeast Asian Studies.

ST-Khmer II

Khmer II is the second part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Khmer (Cambodian). The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Khmer develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Cambodia and to support course work in Asian Studies.
