ST-Hindi VIII

Hindi VIII is the fourth part of a four-part intermediate course sequence in Hindi. The course format includes small group conversation sessions and individual tutorials. Students studying Hindi develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural etiquette skills needed for study abroad in India and to support course work in South Asian Studies.

ST-Turkish VI

Turkish VI is an intermediate-level course for students who have completed Turkish I-V or the equivalent. The course is offered through the Five College Mentored Language Program. The course format includes small group conversation sessions and individual tutorials. Students studying Turkish develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural etiquette skills needed for study abroad in Turkey and to support course work in Middle Eastern Studies.

Swahili V

Swahili V is the first part of a four-part intermediate course sequence in Swahili (Kiswahili). The course format includes small group conversation sessions and individual tutorials. Students studying Swahili develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural etiquette skills needed for study abroad in East Africa (especially Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda) and to support course work in African studies.

S-I Levantine Arabic II

Levantine Arabic II is the second part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Levantine Arabic. The course develops speaking and listening skills in colloquial Levantine Arabic. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and a final evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Levantine Arabic develop skills needed for study abroad in Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, Syria or the West Bank and to support course work in Middle Eastern and International Studies.

Urdu for Urdu-Hindi Spkrs II

Urdu for Hindi-Urdu Speakers II is for advanced speakers of Hindi or Urdu who want to learn to read and write in Urdu. The course is offered through the Five College Mentored Language Program. The course format includes individual tutorials. The course continues the review of Urdu grammar and structure started in Urdu for Hindi-Urdu Speakers I. By the end of the course, students should be able to read in Hindi and be able to compose simple texts such as dialogues and paragraphs in Hindi.

Urdu for Urdu-Hindi Spkrs I

Urdu for Hindi-Urdu Speakers I is for advanced speakers of Hindi or Urdu who want to learn to read and write in Urdu. The course is offered through the Five College Mentored Language Program. The course format includes individual tutorials. A placement interview is required. The course includes a complete review of Urdu grammar and structure. By the end of the course, students should be able to read in Urdu and be able to compose simple texts such as dialogues and paragraphs in Urdu.

Hindi for Hindi-Urdu Speakers II is for advanced speakers of Hindi or Urdu who want to learn to read and write in Hindi. The course is offered through the Five College Mentored Language Program. The course format includes individual tutorials. The course continues the review of Hindi grammar and structure started in Hindi for Hindi-Urdu Speakers I. By the end of the course, students should be able to read in Hindi and be able to compose simple texts such as dialogues and paragraphs in Hindi.
