Nepali II is the second part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Nepali. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Swahili develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural etiquette skills needed for study abroad in East Africa (especially Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda) and to support course work in African studies.

Turkish VIII is an intermediate-level course for students who have completed Turkish I-VII or the equivalent. The course is offered through the Five College Mentored Language Program. The course format includes small group conversation sessions and individual tutorials. Students studying Turkish develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural etiquette skills needed for study abroad in Turkey and to support course work in Middle Eastern Studies.
