This seminar is designed to assist first semester Isenberg School of Management external transfer students with the transition into their new academic community. Through this one-credit seminar, students will be introduced to valuable academic and career related topics and provided with connections to campus resources, faculty and staff.

ST-6Sigma&LeanProcessImprvmnt

Transforming Data into Information using tools common to Six Sigma and Lean process improvement. Although some data analysis tools are unique to Six Sigma or Lean, most of the tools used in these methodologies are common to both and predate them. This course reviews those tools including how, when and why to use them with hands-on practice. [It's expected each student will have a PC with Microsoft Excel Version 2007 or later installed]. The course will use QI Macros software. Prerequisites: Six Sigma Methodology

ST- Six Sigma Methodology

Explore Six Sigma as a methodology for improving processes and as an enabler of organizational change. Six Sigma is a methodology for process change and is a movement that aims to make all employees aware of the value of process improvement. It also provides the organizational structure to support continuous improvement. This course will explore the process improvement methodologies of Six Sigma and the DMAIC model for problem resolution.

ST-Real Estate Principles

Principles of Real Estate is an introductory course in Real Estate. Topics covered will include Real property rights; Real property taxation; Conveying real property rights; Real estate brokerage and Listing Contracts; Contracts for sale; Basic forms of ownership; Management of real estate; Government regulation, planning and zoning; Market Determinants of value; Introduction to investment property analysis; Market and feasibility analysis; Leases; Mortgages and bank lending; Default and foreclosure; and bankruptcy.
