Student teaching and/or internship

Course surveys typical and atypical child and adolescent development in PreK-12 school environments. It provides students opportunities to learn current theories and applications related to the specific helping professions work settings that students will enter.

This course will cover learning and teaching processes in STEM classes and within STEM students, as well as the nature of reasoning, inquiry, cooperative and project-based learning and methods.

This course introduces and assesses the 11 Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Standards fulfilling the SEI Endorsement requirement for teacher licensure in Massachusetts. Course content prepares PK-12 preservice teachers with the theoretical, cultural, political, linguistic, and instructional tools for effectively promoting the language development of English language learners.
