Amer Foreign Policy

Principles of American foreign policy with an emphasis on the historical, political, and administrative sources of contemporary policies. Analysis of the foreign policy-making process with specific reference to illustrative case studies. (Gen.Ed. SB)

ST-Safety in Construction

With construction being one of the most dangerous occupations, workplace safety is crucial for every successful building project. This course teaches basic safety concepts through guest lectures and the self-guided study of OSHA principles. Students acquire the 10-hour OSHA safety training (and card) as part of this course (at a small, additional cost), which is the basic requirement for any work on construction sites.

ST- Film Criticism Podcasting

For as long as there has been cinema there has also been film criticism, from print and broadcast media to web formats in recent decades. Podcasts now offer a versatile new digital medium for film criticism, drawing on many of the strengths of traditional media in addition to its own unique qualities of engagement. In this course, we will study the work of writing compelling and illuminating film criticism for the podcast medium and techniques for producing rich, engaging podcast content.

ST-Introduction to GIS

The goals of this course are to teach you basic GIS concepts such as spatial data sources and structures, projections and coordinate systems, geospatial analysis, cartographic modeling, and the integration of remote sensing and GIS. By the end of the course, students will be proficient in ESRI ArcGIS software.

Materials Sci and Eng Project

The course will provide the students with an experience in searching the current scientific literature in Materials Science and Engineering, preparing a technical report, and delivering a seminar while expanding their knowledge in a topic of their choice from a list of technologically relevant research areas provided by the instructors.
