ST-Nineteenth Century Art

This undergraduate seminar explores the onset of modernity in sculpture from the late 18th- to the early 20th-century in works by Canova, Degas, Rodin, Picasso, Duchamp, and others. From Degas Little Dancer Aged Fourteen to Rodins Gates of Hell, what sort of specifically modern desires motivated the production of sculpture? What kinds of new experiences did modern sculpture offer? In a world where sensory perception was proven to be manipulable and easily stimulated by new technologies, how did art define aesthetic experience?

Jewish Humor

What part does humor play in Jewish culture? This course examines Jewish humor in literature, folklore, film, TV, and stand-up comedy. Topics include: the origins of modern Jewish humor, Yiddish satire and comedy, Jewish role in popular culture in the US, Europe, and Israel, and the relationship of Jewish humor to antisemitism. Painting-Aqueous Med

Basic practice and theory of painting developed through the study of traditional and contemporary procedures used in the development of pictorial form. Emphasis on still life, landscape and the human figure. Materials: oil and aqueous media.

ST- MedNutrTherapy (Diatetics)

This 1-credit class is open to Dietetic Track students only. It is designed to provide instruction and support for students in the application of the Nutrition Care Process (NCP). With the help of the instructor, students will develop nutritional care plans for case studies as it relates to successful completion of NUTRITN 580 case students.
