Filipino III is the third part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Filipino, the national language of the Philippines, developed from Tagalog and other regional languages. Mongolian III is the third part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Mongolian. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Mongolian develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Mongolia and to support course work in Asian Studies.

Levantine Arabic VI is offered in a special independent study format through the Five College Center for the Study of World Languages. The course develops speaking and listening skills in colloquial Jordanian, Lebanese, Palestinian, and Syrian Arabic. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions with a native speaker and a final evaluation by an outside evaluator. In order to enroll in this course, students must have completed Levantine Arabic V or the equivalent and be comfortable with advanced level speaking and listening skills.
