A topical study of key industrial and technological developments in U.S. economic history. Focuses on the periods of transition leading to the ascendance of U.S. manufacturing power and the subsequent decline in U.S. manufacturing leadership in the growing globalized economy. Prerequisites: Econ 103 or RESECON 102 or ECON 104.

Prac-Field Meth&Anl

This course is designed to introduce students to field research methods
in geography and to explore aspects of New England landscape change. We
will focus on field techniques which are most effectively learned on the
ground, such as analytical observation, mapping, photography and
interviewing. Students will have opportunities both to work in groups
and to design and carry out their own research projects.

Sem-Accompanying I

Designed to provide the pianist with an overall knowledge of the art of accompanying, coaching, and ensemble performance. Encompasses both the vocal and instrumental repertoire, dealing with the diverse periods and stylistic differences of the respective repertoire. Each class period includes lecture on historical and biographical background and specific coaching and critical evaluation of individual performances. Two-semester course.
