Ukrainian I is the first part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Ukrainian. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. In order to enroll in this course, students must have completed Iraqi Arabic I or the equivalent. Students studying Iraqi Arabic develop skills needed for study abroad in Iraq and to support course work in Middle Eastern and International Studies.

Moroccan Arabic II is offered in a special independent study format through the Five College Center for the Study of World Languages.
