Introduction to Leadrshp Pract

Using conceptual frameworks and experiential learning related to explorations of self, self and others, and groups, we will cover a variety of diversity and leadership topics that you will find applicable to many areas of your life. This course will include topics in introductory leadership theories and development, personality types, time management and goal setting, diversity and social justice, communication skills, group dynamics, and student involvement.

Advanced Honors Seminar

Advanced Honors Seminar is the second and final course in the two-part Honors Seminar Series, formerly the Dean?s Book Course. If you have completed HONORS 291D, 291G, or 291R with a B or better, upon successful completion, this course will satisfy the Honors Seminar Series requirement of Commonwealth College. HONORS 391D carries a Gen Ed I. In 391D, students participate in a topical seminar-style course designed by its instructor. While the subject matter of each section is different, the requirements for each section are the same.

Violence in American Culture

The complex social and cultural interactions that can lead to violence. We will begin by examining various theories of human violence from a number of disciplines: anthropology, psychology, and sociology. Some sections of this course may carry a community service learning component requiring students to simultaneously enroll in a one-credit honors service learning colloquium. (Gen.Ed. I, U)

Cross Cultural Prep Seminar

This intercultural communication seminar is designed to help students who are enrolled in the International Scholars Program prepare for their study abroad experience. It explores the role that culture plays as a medium of communication. It encourages students to see themselves as members of one or more cultural group and to anticipate what it will be like living, working and communicating in a new cultural environment. (GenEd. Advanced Honors Seminar
