Independent Study

Students interested in independent study in dance (Dance 395) must provide convincing reasons for pursuing independent work and be self-motivated and supervised in their work. Students are responsible for choosing and receiving approval from a faculty advisor, with whom workload expectations, meeting times, and outcomes will be mutually negotiated and set for the semester. Credit load (1-4) will reflect the workload level and outcomes of the proposed study (e.g., a 2-credit independent study requires a minimum of 2-4 hours of outside work each week.

Adv Korean/Modern History

In this course, students will develop their Korean proficiency at an advanced level through exploring the content of modern Korean history. By doing so, students will also achieve deeper understanding of Korean culture and society. Students will read the main course materials in Korean and discuss major events and the meanings of them in the Korean historical context. Students are also recommended to read reference materials in both English and Korean to gain a deeper understanding of the historical events.
