Intro Comp Science I

This course introduces ideas and techniques that are fundamental to computer science. The course emphasizes procedural abstraction, algorithmic methods, and structured design techniques. Students will gain a working knowledge of a block-structured programming language and will use the language to solve a variety of problems illustrating ideas in computer science. A selection of other elementary topics will be presented. A laboratory section will meet once a week to give students practice with programming constructs. Two class hours and one one-hour laboratory per week.

Introduction to contemporary public policy issues and debates. Various perspectives on public policy, including equality, justice, and efficiency. Emphasis on in-class discussion and debates. Applications may include environmental policy, affirmative action, immigration, welfare policy, education, health, and other public policies. (Gen. Ed. SB, DU)

NursingProcCommonHealthDisrupt

This clinical course provides opportunities for experience in application of nursing knowledge through nursing process and development of fundamental nursing skills. Clinical experiences will be offered primarily in secondary care settings including community hospitals, long-term care and/or rehabilitation facilities with clients across the life span. The emphasis is on health promotion and nursing care of individuals across the lifespan who are experiencing, or at risk for, common health disruptions.

Technical Project Management

This course provides an overview of the fundamental concepts of managing engineering and technical projects. Covered topics align with the Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK?) developed by the Project Management Institute, Inc. (PMI) and include the five (5) major project management process groups: initiation, project planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing. A particular focus of this course will be equipping the student with the important nontechnical skills (i.e. soft skills) needed in leading projects and project teams.
