Yoruba VI is an intermediate-advanced course in Yoruba offered through the Five College Center for World Languages. The course format includes intensive independent study and an evaluation by an outside evaluator, as well as collaborative contribution of course readings and discussion questions. Students studying Yoruba develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Ghana and engagement with Yoruba-speaking communities, and to support course work in African Studies and other academic, vocational, and personal goals.

Turkish VI is the second part of a four-part intermediate course sequence in Turkish offered through the Five College Mentored Language Program. The course format includes small group conversation sessions and individual tutorials. Students studying Turkish develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural etiquette skills needed for study abroad in Turkey and engagement with Turkish-speaking communities, and to support course work in Middle Eastern Studies and other academic, vocational, and personal goals.

Students studying Thai develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Thailand and engagement with Thai-speaking communities, and to support course work in Southeast Asian Studies and other academic, vocational, and personal goals.

Swahili VI is the second part of a four-part intermediate course sequence in Swahili (Kiswahili) offered through the Five College Mentored Language Program. Students studying Swahili develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural etiquette skills needed for study abroad in East Africa (especially Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda) and engagement with Swahili-speaking communities, and to support course work in African Studies and other academic, vocational, and personal goals.
