Thai III

Thai III is the third part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Thai offered through the Five College Center for World Languages. The course format includes intensive independent study, small group conversation sessions led by a peer conversation partner, and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Thai develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Thailand and engagement with Thai-speaking communities, and to support course work in Southeast Asian Studies and other academic, vocational, and personal goals.

Swedish III

Swedish III is the third part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Swedish offered through the Five College Center for World Languages. The course format includes intensive independent study, small group conversation sessions led by a peer conversation partner, and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Swedish develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Sweden and engagement with Swedish-speaking communities, and to support course work in European or Scandinavian Studies and other academic, vocational, and personal goals.

Swahili III

Swahili III is the third part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Swahili (Kiswahili) offered through the Five College Mentored Language Program. The course format includes small group conversation sessions and individual tutorials. Students studying Swahili develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural etiquette skills needed for study abroad in East Africa (especially Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda) and engagement with Swahili-speaking communities, and to support course work in African Studies and other academic, vocational, and personal goals.

Romanian III

Romanian III is the third part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Romanian offered through the Five College Center for World Languages. The course format includes intensive independent study, small group conversation sessions led by a peer conversation partner, and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Romanian develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Romania or the Republic of Moldova and engagement with Romanian-speaking communities, and to support course work in European Studies and other academic, vocational, and personal goals.

Pashto III

Pashto III is the third part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Pashto offered through the Five College Center for World Languages. The course format includes intensive independent study, small group conversation sessions led by a peer conversation partner, and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Pashto develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Afghanistan or Pakistan and engagement with Pashto-speaking communities, and to support course work in South Asian Studies and other academic, vocational, and personal goals.

Norwegian III

Norwegian III is the third part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Norwegian offered through the Five College Center for World Languages. The course format includes intensive independent study, small group conversation sessions led by a peer conversation partner, and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Mongolian III

Mongolian III is the third part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Mongolian. The course is offered through the Five College Center for World Languages. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Mongolian develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Mongolia and to support course work in Asian Studies and other academic, vocational, and personal goals.
