Swedish II

Swedish II is the second part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Swedish offered through the Five College Center for World Languages. The course format includes intensive independent study, small group conversation sessions led by a peer conversation partner, and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Swedish develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Sweden and engagement with Swedish-speaking communities, and to support course work in European or Scandinavian Studies and other academic, vocational, and personal goals.

Sinhala II

Sinhala II is the second part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Sinhala offered through the Five College Center for World Languages. The course format includes intensive independent study, small group conversation sessions led by a peer conversation partner, and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Sinhala develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Sri Lanka and engagement with Sinhala-speaking communities, and to support course work in South Asian Studies and other academic, vocational, and personal goals.

Swahili II

Swahili II is the second part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Swahili (Kiswahili) offered through the Five College Mentored Language Program. The course format includes small group conversation sessions and individual tutorials. Students studying Swahili develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural etiquette skills needed for study abroad in East Africa (especially Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda) and engagement with Swahili-speaking communities, and to support course work in African Studies and other academic, vocational, and personal goals.

Romanian II

Romanian II is the second part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Romanian offered through the Five College Center for World Languages. The course format includes intensive independent study, small group conversation sessions led by a peer conversation partner, and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Romanian develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Romania or the Republic of Moldova and engagement with Romanian-speaking communities, and to support course work in European Studies and other academic, vocational, and personal goals.

Pashto II

Pashto II is the second part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Pashto offered through the Five College Center for World Languages. The course format includes intensive independent study, small group conversation sessions led by a peer conversation partner, and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Pashto develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Afghanistan or Pakistan and engagement with Pashto-speaking communities, and to support course work in South Asian Studies and other academic, vocational, and personal goals.

Norwegian II

Norwegian II is the second part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Norwegian offered through the Five College Center for World Languages. Students studying Tibetan develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Tibet, India, and Nepal and engagement with Tibetan-speaking communities, and to support course work in South Asian and Buddhist Studies and other academic, vocational, and personal goals.

Mongolian II

Mongolian II is the second part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Mongolian. The course is offered through the Five College Center for World Languages. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Mongolian develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Mongolia and to support course work in Asian Studies and other academic, vocational, and personal goals.
