Product Management

Product management has evolved into a critical function for modern organizations ranging from small startups to large corporations. The Product Management course focuses on deciding which product to build, creating a business case, working with engineering, and bringing it to market. It will provide current and aspiring product managers with practical advice on how to successfully define, develop, launch, and market new products.

Programming w/Data Structures

The course introduces and develops methods for designing and implementing abstract data types using the Java programming language. The main focus is on how to implement abstract data collections and their associated operations. Specific implementations include linked structures, recursive structures, binary trees, balanced trees, and hash tables. Algorithm analysis and asymptotic bounding of implementations is a major topic throughout the course. The topics covered in this course are fundamental to programming and are essential to further computer science courses.

Elementary Russian

The four-skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) introduction to the Russian language with the focus on communicative skills development. Major structural topics include pronunciation and intonation, all six cases, all tenses and verbal aspect. By the end of the course, students are able to sustain conversation on basic topics, write short compositions, read short authentic texts, as well as develop an understanding of Russian culture through watching, discussing and writing on movies, short stories, folk tales and poems. This is a full-year course.

IntroMicroeconomics

How and how well do markets work? What should government do in a market economy? How do markets set prices, determine what is produced and decide who gets the goods? We consider important economic issues including preserving the environment, free trade, taxation, (de)regulation and poverty. Enrollment limited to 40.

The Art of Repair

"The Repair" is preceded by the injury. Injuries on the landscape, the environment, on objects, architecture, on the body, on the psyche. In this studio art course students are going to develop multimedia art projects based on their engagement in questions concerning the human impact on land, objects, waters, architecture, plants, animals, and humans.
