Fundmntl Vertebrate Embryology

The course is designed to learn the basic principles of embryology including, germ layer establishment, body axis determination, induction, determination, competence and differentiation. The class meets twice a week for 3 hours each. The course will have a lecture component that will describe how an embryo is shaped from a single cell and a laboratory component that will allow students to observe developmental stages and perform classical experiments that were used to demonstrate the basic principles described above.

Veterinary Pathology

This course relates the normal physiology of the animal to the consequences of abnormal physiology, and discusses what effects this will have on organs and tissues in the body. Topics that will be explored include mechanisms of tissue destruction and repair, abnormal growth processes and neoplasia, circulatory disturbances, principles of epidemiology and public health and the immunology of inflammation, autoimmunity and infectious disease.
