Swahili IV

Swahili IV is the fourth part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Swahili (Kiswahili). The course is offered through the Five College Mentored Language Program. The course format includes small group conversation sessions and individual tutorials. Students studying Swahili develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural etiquette skills needed for study abroad in East Africa (especially Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda) and to support course work in African studies.

Romanian IV

Romanian IV is the fourth part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Romanian. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Romanian develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Romania or the Republic of Moldova and to support course work in European Studies.

Persian IV

Persian IV is the fourth part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Persian. The course teaches Iranian Persian (Farsi). It is also useful for students who want to learn Dari (Persian as spoken in Afghanistan) or Tajik (Persian as spoken in Tajikistan). The course is offered through the Five College Mentored Language Program. The course format includes small group conversation sessions and individual tutorials.

Indonesian IV

Indonesian IV is the fourth part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Indonesian. The course format combines independent study with small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Indonesian develop speaking, listening, and basic literacy skills needed for study abroad in Indonesia and to support course work in Southeast Asian Studies.

Norwegian IV
