Bangla/Bengali I is the first part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Bangla. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Mongolian III is the third part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Mongolian. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Mongolian develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Mongolia and to support course work in Asian Studies.

Levantine Arabic VI is the second part of a four-part intermediate course sequence in Levantine Arabic. The course develops speaking and listening skills in colloquial Levantine Arabic. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and a final evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Levantine Arabic develop skills needed for study abroad in Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, Syria or the West Bank and to support course work in Middle Eastern and International Studies.

An advanced course focuses on developing reading and speaking skills, expanding vocabulary, and improving the ability to describe/narrate in detail and support opinions. Topics chosen in consultation with the program director.

Persian VI is an intermediate-level course for students who have completed Persian I-V or the equivalent. The course teaches Iranian Persian (Farsi). It is also useful for students who want to learn Dari (Persian as spoken in Afghanistan) or Tajik (Persian as spoken in Tajikistan). The course is offered through the Five College Mentored Language Program. The course format includes small group conversation sessions and individual tutorials.

Turkish VIII is an intermediate-level course for students who have completed Turkish I-VII or the equivalent. The course is offered through the Five College Mentored Language Program. The course format includes small group conversation sessions and individual tutorials. Students studying Turkish develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural etiquette skills needed for study abroad in Turkey and to support course work in Middle Eastern Studies.
