ST- Contemp Hispanic Cinema

This course gathers together an array of recent Latin American, Spanish, Caribbean, and Latinx films with an emphasis on addressing the experiences of marginalized people. We will explore the historical and cultural contexts in which these films are made and seen, in many cases reaching vast audiences across the world, and we will push at the boundaries of the category "Hispanic" in cinema.

S- EEG and ERP Methods

We will cover a variety of basic and advanced EEG and ERP methods, including experimental design, data processing and data analysis. There will be opportunities for hands-on data collection. Individual projects will focus on writing ERP proposals, processing and analyzing existing data sets and developing approaches to solve problems in ERP design and analysis.

ST-ForestGardens:PerennAgr/Eco

Offers students deepened understanding of forest gardens, with a focus on northeast temperate climates. This course will use readings, field trips, hands on learning at the Agriculture Learning Center and in class exercises to explore the resilience and benefits of forest systems and how we would tweak them for the creation of forest gardens.

Veterinary Microbiology Lab

A microbiology laboratory course for skill development and discovery, focusing on the importance of microbes in animal health and disease, emphasizing development of essential techniques, including sterile technique, microscopy, enrichment, isolation, cultivation, characterization (including antibiotic susceptibility), and molecular detection of microbes; laboratory exercises designed to encourage students to develop and test hypotheses, and to think critically about their observations.

Labor Economics Hons

Choice-theoretic model of labor-leisure choice. Returns to education and occupational choice. Demand for labor. Minimum wages. Changing income distribution. Effect of household structure and tax system on income structure. Labor market discrimination. Compensating wage differentials. Unions. The enrichment for this course will be the hands-on analysis of real-world labor market data. The course will cover econometric methods used by economists in estimating causal effects, including the use of natural experiments.
