ST-Vietnamese/HeritageSpeakrs1

Vietnamese for Heritage Speakers I is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Vietnamese develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Vietnam and to support course work in Asian Studies. This course is an entry-level course for students who already have some basic speaking skills in Vietnamese.

ST- Modern Greek VIII

Modern Greek VIII is the fourth part of a four-part intermediate course sequence in Modern Greek. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Modern Greek develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Greece and to support course work in European Studies.

ST- Haitian Creole VI

Haitian Creole VI is an intermediate-level course for students who have completed Haitian Creole I-V or the equivalent. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Haitian Creole develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Haiti and to support course work in Caribbean and/or Francophone Studies.

ST- Dutch IV

Dutch IV is the fourth part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Dutch. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Dutch develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in the Netherlands and to support course work in European Studies.

ST-Levantine Arabic VII

Levantine Arabic VII is the third part of a four-part intermediate course sequence in Levantine Arabic. The course develops speaking and listening skills in colloquial Levantine Arabic. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and a final evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Levantine Arabic develop skills needed for study abroad in Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, Syria or the West Bank and to support course work in Middle Eastern and International Studies.

ST- Bangla/Bengali VI

Bangla/Bengali VI is the second part of a four-part intermediate course sequence in Bangla. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Bangla/Bengali develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Bangladesh and to support course work in South Asian Studies.

ST- Modern Irish VIII

Modern Irish VIII is an intermediate-level course for students who have completed Modern Irish I-VII or the equivalent. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Modern Irish (also known as Irish Gaelic) develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Ireland and to support course work in Celtic Studies.

ST-Burmese IV

Burmese IV is the fourth part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Burmese. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Burmese develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Myanmar (Burma) and to support course work in Southeast Asian Studies.

S-I Moroccan Arabic II

Moroccan Arabic II is the second part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Moroccan Arabic. The course develops speaking and listening skills in colloquial Moroccan Arabic. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and a final evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Moroccan Arabic develop skills needed for study abroad in Egypt and to support course work in Middle Eastern, African and International Studies.
