Cantonese for Mandarin Speakers V is the first part of a four-part intermediate course sequence in Spoken Cantonese for Mandarin Speakers. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Cantonese develop speaking and listening skills needed to live and work in a Cantonese-speaking environment.

ST-Vietnamese/HeritageSpeakrs2

Vietnamese for Heritage Speakers II is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Vietnamese develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Vietnam and to support course work in Asian Studies.

Afrikaans IV

Afrikaans IV is the fourth part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Afrikaans. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Afrikaans develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in South Africa and to support course work in African Studies.

Amharic V is the first part of a four-part intermediate course sequence in Amharic. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Amharic develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Ethiopia and to support course work in African Studies.

ST- Moroccan Arabic IV

Moroccan Arabic IV is the second part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Moroccan Arabic. The course develops speaking and listening skills in colloquial Moroccan Arabic. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and a final evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Moroccan Arabic develop skills needed for study abroad in Morocco and to support course work in Middle Eastern, African and International Studies.

ST- Modern Tibetan V

Modern Tibetan V is the first part of a four-part intermediate course sequence in Modern Tibetan. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Modern Tibetan develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Tibet or Tibetan-speaking areas and to support course work in Asian Studies or Buddhist Studies.

ST- Dutch V

Dutch V is the first part of a four-part intermediate course sequence in Dutch. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Dutch develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in the Netherlands and to support course work in European Studies.
