ST- Amharic VI

Amharic VI is the second part of a four-part intermediate course sequence in Amharic. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Amharic develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Ethiopia and to support course work in African Studies.

ST- Bangla/Bengali V

Bangla/Bengali V is the first part of a four-part intermediate course sequence in Bangla. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Bangla/Bengali develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Bangladesh and to support course work in South Asian Studies.

ST- Modern Irish V

Modern Irish V is the first part of a four-part intermediate course sequence in Modern Irish (also known as Irish Gaelic). The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Modern Irish develop speaking and listening skills useful for study abroad in Ireland and to support course work in Celtic Studies.

ST- Modern Irish VII

Modern Irish VII is an intermediate-level course for students who have completed Modern Irish I-VI or the equivalent. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Modern Irish (also known as Irish Gaelic) develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Ireland and to support course work in Celtic Studies.

ST-Yoruba V

Yoruba V is an intermediate-level course for students who have completed Yoruba I-IV or the equivalent. Yoruba is one of the primary languages of Nigeria and also spoken in diaspora communities in Brazil and the Caribbean. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Yoruba develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in West Africa and to support course work in African and African-Caribbean studies.

ST- Filipino VIII

Filipino VIII is the fourth part of a four-part intermediate course sequence in Filipino, the national language of the Philippines, developed from Tagalog and other regional languages. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Filipino develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in the Philippines and to support course work in Southeast Asian Studies.
