Specific topics include lists, sets, maps, graphs, stacks, queues, searching, and sorting. (Gen Ed R2)

Prerequisites: COMPSCI 121 (or equivalent experience) and Basic Math Skills (R1). This course is not a substitute for COMPSCI 187. If unsure of whether this course or COMPSCI 187 is more appropriate, contact instructor.

Projects in Paper & Book Arts

This course introduces beginning students to the fundamentals of papermaking and bookbinding, at the same time as it allows more experienced students to continue to develop their craft in either medium and pursue independent conceptual projects on their own. A variety of book structures and papermaking processes will be demonstrated, discussed and experimented with throughout the semester. Throughout the course students will consider paper as a substrate for printed text and image, a building block for books and sculptural multiples, and as an art object itself.
