Practicum

A practicum/internship will help you gain invaluable knowledge and skills that can serve as a stepping-stone to your career. You can find an internship locally, in a major city, or abroad. Seeking an practicum/internship requires a great deal of initiative on your part - you must both find a site where you can work and connect with a faculty member who will support you in your academic efforts related to that work.

Practicum

We will explore potential career paths with guest speakers from museums, libraries, archives, galleries, auction houses, and more. The course is designated to help majors begin to plan art history careers through coursework, internships, and other work experiences.

Race and Gender: Theory

(Offered as POSC 375 and SWAG 376) Questions of race, gender, and sexuality have provoked profound shifts in the analytical methods of critical theory. Notwithstanding its subtle views of history, critical theory conceived of the political arena in overly abstract, generalizing terms. Exploring twenty-first-century approaches in social and political thought, this course expands the repertoire of critical strategies through which we can frame our current political landscape.
