Vietnamese for Heritage Speakers I is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Vietnamese develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Vietnam and to support course work in Asian Studies. This course is an entry-level course for students who already have some basic speaking skills in Vietnamese.

Dutch IV is the fourth part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Dutch. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. Students will practice language functions and their key grammatical features. Students will expand vocabulary and range of topics. Students will increase narrative and conversational fluency. Students will compare aspects of ASL and English through translation exercises.

The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Bangla/Bengali develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Bangladesh and to support course work in South Asian Studies.

Modern Irish VII is an intermediate-level course for students who have completed Modern Irish I-VI or the equivalent. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Modern Irish (also known as Irish Gaelic) develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Ireland and to support course work in Celtic Studies.

Malay IV is the fourth part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Malay. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Malay develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Malaysia and to support course work in Southeast Asian Studies.
