Filipino III

Filipino III is the third part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Filipino, the national language of the Philippines, developed from Tagalog and other regional languages. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Filipino develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in the Philippines and to support course work in Southeast Asian Studies.

ST-Bangla/Bengali I

Bangla/Bengali I is the first part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Bangla. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Bangla/Bengali develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Bangladesh and to support course work in South Asian Studies.

ST-Persian V

Persian V is an intermediate-level course for students who have completed Persian I-IV or the equivalent. The course teaches Iranian Persian (Farsi). It is also useful for students who want to learn Dari (Persian as spoken in Afghanistan) or Tajik (Persian as spoken in Tajikistan). The course is offered through the Five College Mentored Language Program. The course format includes small group conversation sessions and individual tutorials.

Amharic II

Amharic II is the second part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Amharic. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Amharic develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Ethiopia and to support course work in African Studies.

ST-Indonesian VII

Indonesian VII is an intermediate-level course for students who have completed Indonesian I-VI or the equivalent. The course is offered as a Five College Independent Plus Language Course. The course format combines independent study with small group conversation sessions and one-on-one peer-tutoring. Students studying Indonesian develop speaking, listening, and basic literacy skills needed for study abroad in Indonesia and to support course work in Southeast Asian Studies.

ST-Nepali II

Nepali II is the second part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Nepali. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Nepali develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in Nepal and to support course work in South Asian Studies.

Zulu IV

Zulu IV is the fourth part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Zulu. The independent study format includes small group conversation sessions and an evaluation by an outside evaluator. Students studying Zulu develop speaking and listening skills needed for study abroad in South Africa and to support course work in African Studies.

ST-Mongolian III

Mongolian III is the third part of a four-part elementary course sequence in Mongolian. The course is offered through the Five College Supervised Independent Language Program.
