Introduces theories and research on college students' development and their college experience. Theories describing patterns of growth and development and their application in higher education.

Issues of gender relative to the participations of all individuals in science activity; historical and on-going structures, policies, and practices that influence legitimacy and participation; and the intersection and relationships between social groups.

Examines and applies theories and methods of instructional design, classroom teaching, and reflective practice in social justice education in K-16 settings. Explores critical issues in teaching and learning about diversity and social justice issues.

The purpose of this course is to give students in the social sciences and, in particular, education, skills in statistical reasoning so that they will be critical readers of research literature in their fields and in a position to design research studies and analyze data on their own.

This course covers the research, theories and professional wisdom about the barriers to and strategies for supporting teachers' professional growth in under-resourced educational systems in developing countries.

Advanced knowledge and procedures for evaluating treatment outcomes using single-subject research designs. Topics include assessment, experimental design, and data evaluation.

Course surveys typical and atypical child and adolescent development in PreK-12 school environments. It provides students opportunities to learn current theories and applications related to the specific helping professions work settings that students will enter.

This course introduces and assesses the 11 Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Standards fulfilling the SEI Endorsement requirement for teacher licensure in Massachusetts. Course content prepares PK-12 preservice teachers with the theoretical, cultural, political, linguistic, and instructional tools for effectively promoting the language development of English language learners.
