This course examines the Jews' deep and complicated relationship to the stage and screen, and how that relationship has influenced cultural, national, and religious identity. Topics include: the theater of religion; film and the immigrant experience; the history of Hollywood; and the work of Jewish actors and directors.

Fundamentals of Reproduction

The course will provide a basic introduction into the principles and mechanisms of normal and abnormal aspects of reproduction and current approaches to reproductive care and management. The aim is to empower the student with entry level, current knowledge for the reproductive aspects of any modern animal husbandry including functional anatomy, reproductive life cycles, terminology, discussion of breeding management, common causes of infertility, and assisted reproductive technologies.

ST- Intro to Data Science

The terms "data science" and "big data" appear in the news media and in everyday conversations. Moreover, we are told that we live in the "age of information", where almost every business venture and scientific research initiative collect a massive amount of data which may contain valuable information. This course is an introduction to the concepts and skills involved with the collection, management, analysis, and presentation of large data sets and the data products that result from the work of data scientists. Privacy and ethical issues are discussed.

Exploring representations of 20th and 21st century childhood from positions of nostalgia, grief, joy, struggle, and anarchy through Scandinavian literature and film. Supplemented by attention to the evolution of child-rearing philosophy and social policy in the Nordic countries.Taught in English, no prerequisites.

Selections from the speeches of the first-century B.C. Roman orator and statesman Cicero, with analysis of their structure, style, and historical context. Prerequisite: 300-level course in Latin or equivalent with a grade of C or higher.
